The Golden Path to Ideal Profession/Career

My article: ‘Career Guidance for Career Fulfillment‘ is a Preface to this Career Guidance Tutorial, so please see that article first, if you have not; you may click here.

Step One

Note that it is a big deal!

  • Your life revolves around your occupation and so it has a great impact on your satisfaction in life. Sadly it turns out that, of all the people that go to work, 82 out of every 100 (82%) wish they wouldn’t have to go to work; there is gross job dissatisfaction.
  • The earnings you get from your occupation depends more on hard work, so you will experience a lot of stress and frustrations if your natural make-up does not match up with the hard work required. Note that the incidence of work-related stress disorders is on the increase; it is good to guard yourself against that.
  • In essence, your satisfaction at any job will depend on how well the various characteristics of the job relate well with your personal make-up.

Analyse each ‘work/field’ or career option:

  • The nature of the work
  • Working conditions

  • Physical demands
  • Preparation needed
  • Chances for employment
  • Method of entering into the particular occupation

You can do this for the top few options in your list of passionate career options

Step Five

Engage your stakeholders in a discussion about the career path you seem to be settling on with the view to get them to be on your side.

You may have to do this a number of times, paying attention to concerns and suggestions they may come up with so that you can factor them into the broader context of your earlier considerations. Then finalise your career path decision.

This requires that you get to know your true self from deep depths. It is the case that a gross majority of people (97%) underestimate their true potential. The Zing4Life! principles, techniques and strategies can help you harness your true/hidden potential.
